This is an alternate format for the Universal Edit button (http://universaleditbutton.org/Registered_MIME_type#Alternate_Linking_Scheme), used by at least MediaWiki.  See https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62885 which tracks the validation failure (there's one other unrelated meta discussed there too).

I've added it to http://microformats.org/wiki/existing-rel-values#HTML5_link_type_extensions
